It says in various parts. such as in Deuteronomy 22:5 "A woman shall not wear man's clothing, nor shall a man put on a woman's clothing; for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord your God." or in Genesis 2 when it talks about the creation of man. it states, verse 20
" but for Adam there was not found a helper suitable for him. 21. So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; then He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh at that place. 22. The Lord God fashioned into a woman the rib which He had taken from the man, and brought her to the man.

Brigette: im really not religious. but this is why there is supposed to be separation between church and state

i myself, have NO problem against gay people, i do not deny them any rights as people, or as americans. sure there are a lot of radicals out there who are anti-gay, but they are ignorant. i however, am not ignorant to what other people choose to believe in and dont condemn them for it. but as a christian, i choose to follow the bible's teachings as much as i can, and i should not be criticized for that. neither do i say that you are wrong for choosing to vote no on prop 8, that is your individual right.

Juan: Well the bible is a book on how to live life. There is no such thing as a good person. for we are all sinners and have all fallen short.
Look i am not saying i have anything against Gays or anything. I am just stating what the bible has to say about this type of situation. Such as in marriage. It's what i follow.

Markus: i don't got nuthin gainst gays, but i'm goin along with my God.

Nora: My next several comments are designated to be read as one. Just to let you know. ;] Spent about half an hour writing it out.

Nora: So, Markus:

Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law. I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some of the specific laws and how to best follow them.

a) When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord (Lev 1:9). The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?

b) I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

c) I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness (Lev 15:19-24). The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.

d) Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?

Nora: e) I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?

f) A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an Abomination (Lev 11:10), it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this?

g) Lev 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here?

h) Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev 19:27. How should they die?

NORA: i) I know from Lev 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?

j) My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev 19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? (Lev 24:10-16) Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)

Juan: Ok. Let me give you a little info. I noticed most of these are from the old testament. It's good that you know of the old laws. but did you know that was of the old covenant which those laws are part of.

In total there were more then 800 laws in which you had to follow. could you tell me how would one person follow these laws. They couldn't so in that they would go and do animal sacrifice, in which they would only cover up their sins for that short period in which they would sin again and do the same thing again and again. It only covered our sins. It never took away the sins for good. that's until Jesus showed up and died on the cross with our sins. He did it so our sins could be taken away for good.

In which making the old covenant replaced with the new one.
In which we have to confess to say he is our Lord and Savior and he will wash all sins away. In thus making the old covenant not what we follow anymore. As long as you confess Jesus as your Savior

Nora: I realize this. However, the fact still remains that the texts that talk about gay marriage being a sin are from the Old Testament as well.

Juan: I am saying how the old laws are not what we follow because of Jesus Christ making the new covenant. In which we can confess the Lord our sins. Without killing a animal for our sins or laws we don't follow.
Juan: well if you look in the new testament there is verses that talk about homosexuality

Nora: I'm a little less learned about the new testament. ;] Thanks for letting me know.
Still- if I could vote, I'd still be staunchly against proposition 8. I applaud you for sticking to your stance on the issue.

Juan: I applaud you for stating those questions. but can i give the verse i was about to give you about it in the new testament. From what i know from the top of my head.
The one is Romans 1:24-27
"24.Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them.
25. For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever, Amen.
26. For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural,
27.and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error."

Ryan: If you would allow me to throw my two cents in:
The Messianic Law (Old Testament Law) can be divided into three categories:
Civil law: those for the specific governing of the nation of Israel (includes tribal governmental structure, Years of Jubilee, provisions for cities of refuge, etc.)
Ceremonial law: those outlining specifics for the Hebrew worship structure (such as ritual cleansings, acceptable sacrifices, priestly garments, and the suchlike)
Moral law: those that are true for all people at all times (murder, theft, adultery, and so on)
Of these, the moral laws are ratified by the New Testament and therefore still apply to humanity today, even if the other two categories no longer apply. This is because moral laws are based on God's character which does not change, ever.

So, about the list Nora threw out there, I believe all of those fell under the two categories that no longer apply.

Ok so things are changing this year. alot. such things go from Ryan Hillner and zoey overton or should i say Zoe Hillner. Yes they are engaged and soon to be married this august. That is number one change. Leaders for the youth have been leaving like mad in the year but it's ok we love them and accept what they choose to do. chris targoni has a girlfriend and she is a cool person but it's funny how he ended up getting a girlfriend. Christopher Don Lazo just got engaged today 7-6-08. amazing to Brianna. I am glad for him and everyone should be. Mike honeyman got a girlfriend she is also a nice girl and totally loves the lord so its a good match with him. Moving on, Dan Ramming or Ramrod is having a son, and he going to be more busy but hey the next ramrod is going to be born soon. thats like all the leaders that have changed a lot this year and wonderful things to them. i am not writing this to call them out or anything but instead i am writing this so i can say to each and everyone of you it's been good knowing, you all. It's been a blessing and seeing the people that have made your lives even more wonderful.

i myself has changed alot, each one of you has shown me what was wrong with me before, the first step of change is to get out of your comfort zone right. Each one of you have made me get out of my comfort zone. I remember when i first came to Reality i was a timid kid with no ounce of courage or bravery at all. I remember it all started with two people that kept me doing the crazy stuff that i thought i would never do. My mind was straight forward, my kindness was not so good, my actions affected people. Each and everyone of you has made me into who i am today

Ryan.... Zoe i thank both of you for that boast of encouragement. I remember the memories we three have but now that you two are getting married, i know your lives will be even better. I love the mold you gave me. I got out there and knew that i can't be scared of the little things of life. I remember Zoe that we used to do some much things to your house and to you yourself. Ryan you made go and do actions, i changed from that timid life to one that i can feel accomplished as a man. I am the now a hoodlum of some sort with stolz. And one thing i want you to remember Stolz and the guys predicted your marriage so know it was all in the lord my main man.

Chris Targoni you have been a friend most of all even when i didn't want you to be at first. You were always so happy and cheerful and stinky at first. I remember the days i was a junior higher and i was stupid. You still didn't know what to do so you bought a book on how to deal with junior highers. You always everything a game, i remember those days like no other. You were the first leader that taught me more then dom. I am glad i get to met you and also i glad that you found someone just like you. A funny, random topic, and super nice personality to everyone with the same cheerful smile that shines to everyone. I am glad for both you and Genevieve. This is a thanks for you Christopher, i have learned alot from you and i have learned to always give that same smilie for people that need it even when they don't want it. It's funny how you the person i never thought i learn from taught me more then i ever wanted to know. And for that i thank you Chris

Christopher Don Lazo, you my friend have taught me how to defend my self where it comes to my faith and reason, you challenge me to think more of the options i choose. You have made me think about my actions and what good or bad it serves to the point of use. You have made my mind mold more into a deep thinker. That is why when i think, i come up with many of the possible ideas to my actions. you molded my brain to be like a scholar of some sort. It was a mold of deep debates and each one of those debates i lost to you. You are the scholar that has made my mind and others change and that is why i am more of the person i am. That is why i am writing this for you and the others, it is time for you and the rest to be thanked for all the wonderful actions and things you have done for me. So Christopher Don Lazo i thank you my friend with this great help you given me. I will still come to you for help but man you need more time with your future wife Brianna haha.

Mike honeyman you are always so graceful to the person even if you don't know them. you will go to a far reach to do that person a great favor. I don't know you as good as the rest of the leaders but you kinda taught me to be kind to those even when they don't know you. I am still working on that but hey man the lord blessed me by knowing you.

Dan Ramming, you are always so busy but you have always .... well actually i don't really know what you have done in my life but you are a blessing to know. i am hoping for the next ramrod to be as great as you have been great to me. I know you will be a great father even when you are in troubled times. Yet isn't that what Jesus did for us, in troubled times he was always a father to us and did so much for us. you will be the same a father, a worker, and a friend. It's been great knowing you. more than anything else i can remember how you are super into mexican culture, it's like you are in mexican culture but i am super into japanese culture. It's funny but it's great that you are a friend. now i know you won't be around as much because of your kid but hey i love that you let me as a friend. So i thank you Dan

When i been writing this for all of you i noticed it almost sounds like a will or something along those lines but it shouldn't be a will. Its a thank you for what each and everyone of you did my life. For the last time i thank you all for what you did in my life.

Now i got someone in my mind right now, i won't say who it is but this person is the next person i should thank. It's wonderful how each person i meet that has met you all has been a blessing to know. So now i am to go off. I want to grow up and be just like each and one of you. i already got a little bit of all of you in my mind. Either it be the courage, bravery, the mind to think, kindness, sympathy, and a interest. Its great that you will be here to teach me more in the years to come. I got a few more years till i am thrown out in the world and i know wherever i go i will have your memories and your teachings with me.

Today i went on a hike with Sarah Plude, (or so i think her last name is spelled like that)

so here's the story for you people.
woke up at 12:00 p.m. today and took a shower
i have a voice mail since of 9:23 a.m
so i was super late on the phone call but i still call back
It was sarah and she wanted to go on a hike with people but no one called her back

So we went up on this hike in the Carpinterian mountains.
We had fun there is this old abandon cabin and it was strange there and filled with people's hatred but it was still cool

so waking up this morning was different so yesterday night we got into my friend's lazo bed and cuddle next to him to freak him out and so we did that and then left him alone but at 5 am he wakes up and yells GOOD MORNINNGGGGGGGGGGGGGG! and runs outs the door

Hey everyone i am here up at westmont college. So far it's been a cool stay i think i got a bit sick from the night but that's the beauty of random happens but yea it's been really mellow with my fellow friend chris targoni. Nothing wrong with mellow but it's been so good just being up in a different place then a place you feel more comfortable. well there has been some intersting topics such as the cults in surronding areas. Really intense topics. and everyone i know from my last trip up here have been sort of excited to see me.

i hope anyone reading this getting the chance to come up to this wonderful campus and meet the same people i have. they give you that warm family feeling. Well chris is off to one of his classes and i am here on the ladies couch doing this blog update i guess. It's amazing how things are just mellow and relaxing here instead of having to do everything you need to do first to go on through the day.

well i forgot to say the reason i am up here
well my fellow readers i am glad to say i am on spring break and sleeping up at westmont for the night and leaving this evening.
I am here to visit those who gave me such a warm welcome when i first came here and to spend some quality time with my friends chris, andrew, and manual. haha i mispelled his name but o well
